Shar Thae Hoy
Shar Thae Hoy is a dynamic climate advocate from Myanmar. Bringing 4+ years of climate advocacy, education, and research, she specializes in designing and implementing impactful climate action projects for marginalized and disadvantaged communities in Myanmar. She has delivered and contributed to more than 20 climate-related public talks to raise awareness of social and environmental issues in Myanmar. Shar has extensive experience advising on youth-focused programs, amplifying youth voices, mobilizing youth-led initiatives aimed at building resilient communities, and addressing climate justice, particularly in Myanmar and South Asia. Shar is the founder of Climate Action Lab Myanmar (CALM), scaling up young climate heroes’ programs to support the next generation of climate leaders and strengthen the community’s climate resilience in times of crisis. Now, she is spearheading the provision of easy, accessible, resourceful climate technology and climate information to vulnerable and remote geographical locations to further educate climate science and advocate for social and cultural innovation to foster community-led climate solutions.
