Anissa Zouzaf is tackling the challenge of broken barrier cells in individuals with psoriasis and IBD, leading to persistent health issues. Her innovative approach involves programming macrophages, the body’s large eater cells, to enhance their reparative capacity and rebuild damaged skin and gut barriers, offering potential drug candidates to transform these cells into builders rather than demolishers.
