Science Beyond SDGs: Power, Priorities, Progress

As 2030 approaches, the context in which the SDGs were conceived has fundamentally changed. Geopolitical fragmentation, political polarization and declining trust in science are straining global cooperation, even as the need for credible knowledge grows. Drawing on the Beyond 2030 report and perspectives from the UN 10-Member Group, this discussion explores how a more distributed global research ecosystem, with rising contributions from the Global South, can sustain science beyond 2030.
