With expertise in marine carbon storage and atmospheric physics, Matthes will discuss cutting-edge strategies that harness the ocean's capacity to offset carbon and stabilize climate. A leading figure in international marine research, Matthes also contributes to the UN Ocean Decade and co-authors the IPCC's latest report, advocating for sustainable ocean use and global cooperation.
