Rafael is a Faculty Member at the Complexity Science Hub, where he explores the dynamics of violence, mobility, migration, and urban evolution. He also works with the OECD and the World Bank, leveraging spatial and demographic analytics of cities. Beyond that, he serves as the Scientific Advisor for Aleph. Previously, Rafael was at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford and UCL. Before academia, he led strategic analysis at Mexico City’s Emergency Attention Centre (C5), specializing in crime forecasting and optimizing police and resource deployment.
Rafael Prieto-Curiel is the Falling Walls Science Breakthrough of the Year 2024 in the Social Sciences and Humanities category
