Currently Program Manager on Google’s Developer Ecosystem Team, previously 12 years with the Open Source, Solve for X and Making & Science teams. I’ve worked with free and open source software communities and startups since the 1980’s including Mt Xinu, Pilot Network Services and Sendmail Inc. I’m a frequent speaker at events and institutions including http://makerstown.eu/, LinuxConfAU, FOSS Oman, GoOpen Arctic Forum, Carnegie Mellon University, ACM-SIGCSE, National University of Singapore, USENIX Women in Advanced Computing Summit, BINUS University Jakarta, CROSS at University of California, and FOSSASIA, and have used my expertise regarding communities, fundraising and unconference/event organizing to organize conferences including the 1st Open Source Track at Grace Hopper, 2018 and 2020 Sustain! Conferences, and Science Foo Camp, produced with Nature, O’Reilly Media, and Digital Science 2007-2019 and Education & Lifelong Learning Foo with O’Reilly, Sesame Workshop & Macmillan Learning. I’m a proud 4 term USENIX.org Board member, a past Jury member for Falling Walls Lab, and a judge for the 2018 UNESCO Hackathon in Singapore.
