Patricia Gruber serves as the Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State. In this role, she engages with academia and private sector to inform foreign policy priorities and promote international S&T collaboration. Dr. Gruber formerly worked at the Office of Naval Research with the Navy, Battelle, the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University, AT&T, Lucent Tech, and Marconi Comms. She received a M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Marine Physics from the University of Miami.
