Netanel Loyfer is a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, where he earned his PhD in Computer Science. His innovative research leverages cell-free DNA fragments, which are released into the bloodstream from dying cells, to trace their origin back to specific tissues based on their DNA methylation signatures (Loyfer et al., Nature, 2023). He is the recipient of the Rappaport Prize for Excellence in Biomedical Research.
