Alice Aiken

Alice B. Aiken, CD, PhD, MSc, BScPT, BSc is a full Professor in the Faculty of Health at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.  Her research focuses on health systems transformation and evidence-informed policy-making with a concentration on military and Veteran health.  She was formerly the Vice President – Research & Innovation (2017-2024) and the Dean of the Faculty of Health (2016-2017) at Dalhousie.  Dr. Aiken was the co-founder and first Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (www.cimvhr.ca) a network of 46 Canadian Universities and 15 International partners dedicated to researching the health needs of military personnel, Veterans and their families. She proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 14 years.
