Mengxing Tang is a Professor of Biomedical Imaging in the Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London. He founded Ultrasound Laboratory for Imaging and Sensing at Imperial in 2006, after his postdoc training in the University of Oxford. His research focuses on developing new ultrasound imaging technologies and their biomedical applications. He and collaborators have pioneered a number of technologies to non-invasively visualize and quantify macro- and micro- vascular flow in vivo with ultrahigh spatial and temporal resolution, using ultrasound and microbubble contrast agents. He has led the first international challenge on ultrasound super-resolution imaging.
Mengxing Tang is a 2024 Falling Walls Winner in the Life Sciences category.
