Volker Epping

Professor Volker Epping studied law and was awarded a doctorate from the Faculty of Law at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in 1992, where he then also completed his habilitation in 1996. After previously holding a professorship in Public Law at the University of Münster, he has held a professorship in Public Law, International and European Law at the Leibniz University Hannover Faculty of Law since December 2001. From 2004 to 2007 and 2008 to 2009, he served as dean of the Faculty of Law. He was a member of the Leibniz University Hannover Senate and the Senate of the Niedersachsen Institutes of Technology (NTH) from 2009 to 2011. He has been president of Leibniz University Hannover since 2015.
