Vasilis Ntziachristos

Vasilis Ntziachristos is Professor of Medicine and Electrical Engineering and Chair of Biological Imaging at the Technical University of Munich, and Director of the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging at Helmholtz Munich. He received his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is internationally recognized for pioneering fluorescence imaging and optoacoustic imaging and sensing technologies, and his honors include the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the WMIS Gold Medal, the Karl Heinz Beckurts Prize, and election to the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
