Tim Kohler is Regents Professor (emeritus) and archaeologist in the Department of Anthropology, Washington State University, and external faculty of the Santa Fe Institute. As co-director of the GINI project on the global dynamics of inequality he studies the effects of climatic and inequality variability on societies. Honors include the Alfred Vincent Kidder Award for Eminence in American Archaeology, and election to the US National Academy of Sciences.
