Taner Esat

Taner Esat is a research group leader at the Peter Grünberg Institute for Quantum Nanoscience at Forschungszentrum Jülich. He received his PhD in physics from the RWTH Aachen University in 2017. He is a passionate and curiosity-driven quantum physicist whose research focuses on the fabrication and study of artificial nanostructures with purpose-made quantum states, potentially leading to future applications in quantum technology, such as quantum information and sensing. Research stays have taken him to Seoul, South Korea and California, USA. He was awarded the Gerhard Ertl Young Investigator Award 2022 and an ERC Starting Grant in 2024.
