Stefanos Kollias

Stefanos Kollias is Chairman of the Board of GRNET (National Infrastructures for Research and Technology), Greece, a position he has held since 2019. He is also Professor Emeritus of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is an IEEE Fellow, recognized for his contributions to machine learning, deep learning, and multimodal content analysis.

His research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and multimodal data analysis, with extensive applications in European research and innovation projects. He has authored over 300 scientific publications and supervised 50 PhD candidates, many of whom hold academic positions internationally. He has also led and participated in more than 100 EU-funded R&D projects, contributing significantly to AI and digital infrastructure initiatives, including cultural heritage and high-performance computing programs.
