Stefan Irion

Stefan Irion is Chief Scientific Officer of GC Therapeutics, where he leads a platform that uses transcription factors to programme cell identity for ex vivo and in vivo cell therapies. He spent nine years at BlueRock Therapeutics, rising to Chief Scientific Officer and guiding the Parkinson's disease programme that became bemdaneprocel from its origins at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center into the clinic. He now serves on the BlueRock board of directors. Earlier, he led stem cell discovery at iPierian. He trained as a physician at the University of Tübingen.
