Stefan Heitmeier

Stefan Heitmeier is Senior Scientific Director in Cardiovascular Research at Bayer in Wuppertal, Germany, and is the pharmacology lead for antithrombotic assets at different stages in preclinical and clinical development, including rivaroxaban and asundexian. Stefan has more than 27 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, from early phases in target discovery to market access, and focuses on mechanistic aspects of novel treatment strategies. Stefan is a pharmacist by training and holds a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Münster.
