Sophie Viscido

Sophie Viscido is Secretary-General of the EuroTech Universities Alliance, where she leads the implementation of its strategy 2030 to strengthen collaboration among leading technical universities, bring scientific expertise and evidence into European research and innovation (R&I) policymaking, and connect research and innovation ecosystems across borders. This includes joint initiatives in frontier research, access to research and technology infrastructures, entrepreneurship and collaboration with industry, as well as education and talent.

Her expertise spans EU R&I policy and programming, strategic and emerging technologies, research and technology infrastructures, and the role of universities and research organisations in Europe's technological competitiveness and societal progress.

Before joining EuroTech, Sophie was a Partner at Technopolis Group, where she led the EU research and innovation practice and major policy studies and evaluations for European institutions. Previously, she held the position of Policy Director at EARTO, the European association of research and technology organisations, working on European R&I programmes, infrastructures and innovation policy.
