Michael Platten
Michael Platten is a Professor of Neurology, Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Mannheim University Hospital, and Head of the Department of Brain Tumor Immunology at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. He received his MD from the University of Bonn, his postdoctoral training at Stanford University and his board certificate in Neurology at Tübingen University. Michael and his team pioneered immunotherapeutic strategies for brain tumors. He is currently leading early multicenter trials testing these strategies. Michael has published more than 350 articles in peer-reviewed journals and received several awards including the German Cancer Award and an ERC Advanced Grant.
