Robert Rosner is a theoretical physicist and astrophysicist, working mostly in areas related to fluid dynamics and plasma physics, both in the laboratory. In much of his work, he has developed and used computer simulation tools to attack problems in these areas. He has been on the faculty of Harvard University and the University of Chicago; and has also been a director of an American National Laboratory (Argonne National Laboratory).
