Ralph Bruder

Ralph Bruder is President of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, a position he has held since 2021. An expert in ergonomics and occupational science, his work focuses on the interaction between humans, technology, and complex systems. Before joining Oldenburg, he served as Professor and Head of the Institute of Ergonomics at Technical University of Darmstadt and was Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Graduate Education. He has also held leadership roles at the University of Duisburg-Essen and founded the Zollverein School of Management and Design. Ralph Bruder has contributed extensively to shaping the field of human-centered design and innovation, including serving as President of the German Society for Occupational Science. His work bridges science, education, and innovation policy, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and the future of universities.
