Philipp Christoph Schmädeke

Dr. Philipp Christoph Schmädeke is Chairman of the Board of the Academic Network Eastern Europe, akno e.V., founded in 2020, under whose umbrella the SCIENCE AT RISK Emergency Office, which is funded by the Federal Foreign Office and other foundations, operates. In 2023 alone, Science at Risk was able to provide financial support to over 550 academics from Belarus, Ukraine and Russia who were at risk from war and repression. Philipp Christoph Schmädeke is also a political scientist and lecturer at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences and at the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
