Peter Middendorf

Peter Middendorf is the Rector of the University of Stuttgart. Prior to his appointment in 2024, he served as Vice Rector for Knowledge and Technology Transfer from 2018 to 2024, where he focused on strengthening collaboration between research, industry, and society. Since 2012, he has been Executive Director of the Institute of Aircraft Design at the University of Stuttgart, following earlier positions at EADS and Eurocopter Deutschland. He holds a doctorate in aerospace engineering from the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. He currently serves as the spokesperson of the Research Directorate at the ARENA2036 research campus.
