Oscar-Werner Reif

Oscar-Werner Reif shaped the Sartorius' technology agenda for three decades. He joined the company in 1995 and held senior R&D positions in Germany, the USA and Japan before assuming responsibility for R&D in the Biotechnology Division in 2005, and for the entire Sartorius Group in 2007. In 2009 he was appointed to the Group Executive Committee — the company's central leadership body — and to the Board of Directors of Sartorius Stedim Biotech S.A. 

He has served as Chief Technology Officer of Sartorius AG since 2020. He studied chemistry and molecular biology at Leibniz University Hannover and Vanderbilt University (USA) and holds a doctorate in chemical process engineering. An honorary professor at Leibniz University Hannover since 2011, he sits on the supervisory and advisory boards of biopharmaceutical companies and research institutions, including the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and Technion — Israel Institute of Technology.
