Melissa Jackson is a transdisciplinary researcher at Griffith University, specialising in climate impacts and sustainable futures. Her research connects transformative governance, collaboration, and transdisciplinary methods to advance zero-carbon, climate-resilient futures. Focusing on energy and water, she integrates climate science, social change theories, and stakeholder engagement. Her doctoral work developed a framework for community water governance in Indigenous Australian communities.

Melissa Jackson's 2024 Falling Walls Engage Winner Project is iKnow weKnow.

iKnow weKnow fosters community ownership in monitoring and recovering the Manialtepec River watershed, enhancing ecosystem care, reducing pollution, and encouraging collaboration. It also addresses climate change impacts on water and energy services in remote Australian Indigenous communities. By integrating 'Western' science with Indigenous knowledge through collaborative co-design, the project develops place-based strategies to improve resilience, sustainability, and health outcomes.
