Melanie Maas-Brunner

Melanie Maas-Brunner is a non-executive director and independent advisor based in Germany. In this role, she contributes expertise to supervisory and advisory functions in an international corporate context. Since 2026, she is the  President of the Stifterverband, a German community consisting of around 3500 dedicated individuals, companies and organisations  rethinking and reshaping education and science with a view to strengthening society’s long-term capacity for innovation. She has held senior leadership positions in the chemical and industrial sector, including executive roles at BASF, where she was responsible for major business and innovation areas. She studied chemistry and earned a doctorate in the field, building a career focused on industrial chemistry, production, and strategic management within global organizations.
