I didn't like school very much, so I became an apprentice in a chocolate company. There I made and repaired the machines for making chocolate. I think it was my mentor there who nurtured the scientist in me by letting me learn independently. Later I studied physics and started my Masters and Ph.D. in physics with Anton Zeilinger at the University of Vienna. In this excellent environment, it was possible to do the research on high dimensional quantum teleportation. Currently, I'm finishing my doctorate and work in a Quantum Tech Startup based in Vienna.
