Liviu Matei

Liviu Matei is Professor of Higher Education and Public Policy, Head of the School of Education, Communication and Society at King’s College London, and he directs the Global Observatory on Academic Freedom. His expertise includes governance, academic freedom and autonomy, funding, internationalisation, quality assurance, history and politics of higher education. He has taught and led policy projects in Europe, the US and Asia. He led the development of a Europe-wide monitoring framework for the fundamental values of higher education, currently being implemented.
