Kimberly Budil

Kimberly S. Budil is the director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, leading ~ 8,700 employees with a $3 billion budget. She sets LLNL’s strategic vision and oversees programs that enhance national security through innovative science and technology while promoting a diverse workforce. Budil engages with senior leaders in the DOE, NNSA, and collaborates with various sectors. She has a Ph.D. in engineering from UC Davis and a B.S. in physics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
