Kathrin Kohs

Ms Kohs earned her second law degree in 2002, specializing in European Law. Before joining the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 2007, she gained experience in European research policy, including at the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KoWi). At the DFG, she initially coordinated EU-funded projects and oversaw national and international DFG-funded graduate programmes. From 2009 to 2010, she worked at the Joint Science Conference (GWK), which brings together representatives of Germany’s federal and state governments. In 2010, she became Personal Assistant to the DFG’s Executive Board.

Ms Kohs currently serves as Deputy Head of the International Affairs Division and Head of the DFG’s North America Team. Her responsibilities also include coordinating the DFG Senate Working Group on Resilience in Science and overseeing strategic issues related to research security.
