Karsten Wildberger is a physicist, business executive, and politician, serving since May 2025 as Germany’s first Federal Minister for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation. He studied physics at RWTH Aachen University and TU Munich, earned a PhD in solid-state and computational physics at Forschungszentrum Jülich, and later completed an MBA at INSEAD.

Before joining the federal government, Wildberger held senior international leadership roles at Boston Consulting Group, Vodafone, Telstra, and E.ON, and most recently served as CEO of Ceconomy AG and Managing Director of Media-Saturn-Holding. His main focus areas include digital transformation, innovation, technology policy, and the modernization of public administration.
