Joybrato Mukherjee

Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee was elected President of Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) in 2009. Since 2012, he has also served as Vice-President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). After studying English, Biology and Education at RWTH Aachen University, he obtained a PhD in English linguistics as well as a post-doctoral degree (Habilitation) from the University of Bonn. He was appointed Full Professor and Chair of English Linguistics at JLU in 2003. His research interests are in computer-based corpus linguistics, English lexicogrammar and World Englishes.
