Jörg Maxton-Küchenmeister

Jörg Maxton-Küchenmeister is Managing Director of the Schering Stiftung and a molecular biologist with more than 25 years of experience in science and foundation management. He focuses on the strategic development and implementation of funding activities in science, education, and public engagement.

He previously headed the Natural Sciences division at the Joachim Herz Foundation, where he developed and led programmes in STEM education, science communication, and early-career researcher support from 2012 to 2025. He has also held roles in Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main and has contributed to national advisory bodies in science and education policy.
