Joachim von Braun

Joachim von Braun is President of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences of the Vatican, Professor (em.) for Economic and Technological Change at Bonn University. His fields of research are agriculture, food and nutrition, climate, and development economics. He is member of Leopoldina, ACATECH, African Academy of Science, AAAS. Served as Chair of the Scientific Group for the Food Systems Summit 2021 of the UN Secretary General, and was director general of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Washington DC.
