Helge Reinhold Braun

Prof. Helge Braun was born in Giessen in 1972, received his doctorate after studying medicine in 2007 and was awarded an honorary professorship in the Department of Medicine at the University of Frankfurt in 2015. From 2002-2005 and subsequently from 2009, he was also a member of the German Bundestag for the Christian Democratic Union, from 2009-2013 as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, from 2013-2018 as Minister of State to the Federal Chancellor and from 2018-2021 as Federal Minister for Special Tasks and Head of the Federal Chancellery. In the current legislative period, he is Chairman of the Budget Committee since 2021.
