Heinz Fassmann is President of the Austrian Academy of Science. He has been serving as Austrian Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research between January 2020 to December 2021 and from December 2017 to June 2019. Fassmann was a professor at the TU München and University of Vienna and Vice-Rector at the University of Vienna, He is a permanent member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Academia Europaea.
