Heike Riel

Heike Riel is IBM Fellow, Head of Quantum & AI Technologies, and Lead of IBM Research Quantum EMEA. She is committed to shaping the future of computing through pioneering scientific and technological advancements in quantum computing, quantum technologies, the physics of artificial intelligence, nanoscience, and technology—exploring novel paradigms that redefine the nature of computation. She holds a Master’s degree in Physics from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, a PhD in Physics from the University of Bayreuth, and an MBA from Henley Business School. She is internationally recognised for her groundbreaking work and has received numerous prestigious honours and awards.
