Harvey Whitehouse, Professor of Social Anthropology and Director of the Centre for the Study of Social Cohesion at the University of Oxford, has spent four decades studying some of the most extreme groups on earth, in collaboration with many of the world’s most brilliant psychologists, historians, and archaeologists – all with a view to pioneering a new, scientific approach to the study of human society. The author of five books and around 200 published articles, his latest book, Inheritance: The Evolutionary Origins of the Modern World came out with Penguin Random House in June 2024.
