Hartmut Zohm has a broad expertise in Nuclear Fusion Research. After studying physics at Karlsruhe, he received his PhD from Heidelberg University. For his thesis, he was awarded the Otto Hahn Medal in 1991 by the Max Planck Society. From 1996 till 1999 he was Professor of Electrical Engineering and Plasma Research at Stuttgart University. Then, he became a DIrector at Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik. Since 2002 he is Honorary Professor at LMU Munich. He was awarded the APS John Dawson Award and the EPS Hannes Alfvén Prize. He is APS Fellow since 2016.
