Dr. Guihua Yu is Temple Foundation Professor of Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering at University of Texas at Austin. He earned his B.S. degree with highest honor from USTC and his Ph.D. from Harvard, followed by postdoc at Stanford. His research focuses on nanomaterials innovations for addressing frontier challenges in sustainable energy-water nexus technologies. He is a Fellow of AAAS, MRS, RSC, IOP, IMMM and IAAM, and has received numerous awards and honors: Blavatnik National Awards Honoree, RSC Horizon Prize, Norman Hackerman Award in Chemical Research, IUPAC Award for Creativity in Applied Polymer Science, Camille-Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, Sloan Fellowship, MIT TR-35.

Guihua Yu is the Falling Walls Science Breakthrough of the Year 2024 in the Engineering & Technology category.
