Gerhard Fettweis

Gerhard P. Fettweis earned a Ph.D. at RWTH Aachen (1990). After working in Silicon Valley at IBM Research and joining TCSI, he became Vodafone Chair Professor at TU Dresden in 1994. He is also founding Director of the Barkhausen Institute. He researches wireless tech and chip design, coordinating 5G++Lab Germany and SEMECO. His team spun out 30 startups and he initiated 6 platform entities. Gerhard is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, Leopoldina, Acatech, and BAdW. He is a Fellow of IEEE, VDE/ITG, NAI, and EURASIP.
