Francesco Sciortino

Francesco Sciortino is Co-Founder and CEO of Proxima Fusion, a Munich-based company developing stellarator technology for commercial fusion energy. He holds a PhD in Plasma Physics and Fusion Energy from MIT and previously conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, where he coordinated European tokamak research. In 2023, he co-founded Proxima Fusion to translate advances in stellarator research into commercially viable fusion power plants, aiming to deliver clean, safe and abundant energy.
