Eric P. Xing is an American computer scientist and AI researcher specializing in machine learning, computational biology, and statistical methodology. He is the founding President of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of GenBio AI. Xing is also a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where he founded the Center for Machine Learning and Health, and has held visiting positions at Stanford University and Meta. He has received numerous honors, including fellowships from AAAI, IEEE, ACM, and the American Statistical Association, as well as the NSF Career Award and Sloan Fellowship.
