Eloísa del Pino is President of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Spain’s largest public research institution, a position she has held since 2022. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Ortega y Gasset Research Institute, as well as degrees in Political Science and Law. Before becoming President of CSIC, she served in several senior academic and public policy roles, including Deputy Director of Institutional Analysis at the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) and Chief of Staff to the Spanish Minister of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare.
A specialist in public policy, welfare state reform, and public administration, Eloísa del Pino has held academic positions at Rey Juan Carlos University and the Autonomous University of Madrid and has been a visiting researcher at institutions including the University of Oxford, the University of Kent, the University of Ottawa, and Sciences Po Bordeaux. Her research focuses on social policy, public sector governance, and the political determinants of welfare state reform.
