Eicke Latz

A physician–scientist by training, Eicke Latz works at the interface of innate immunity, inflammation and translation. He leads the German Rheumatism Research Center (DRFZ) in Berlin and Experimental Rheumatology at Charité, driving lab-in-the-loop, data-driven precision health. A pioneer of inflammasomes and immunometabolism, he is among the most highly cited immunologists. He co-founded several biotechs and advances Berlin’s innovation ecosystem. His work has earned major honours, including the Leibniz Prize.
