Christian Leuz is the Charles F. Pohl Distinguished Service Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a Research Associate at the NBER and a Research Fellow at CEPR and Leibniz Institute SAFE. He studies regulation as well as disclosure and transparency in markets and other settings such as sustainability. He has published in top journals and received numerous awards, including the Humboldt Research Award. He was recognized by Thomson Reuters on their list of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” from 2014 to 2018. He graduated summa cum laude from Goethe University and received an honorary doctorate from Maastricht University in 2024.
