Christian Freuding

Lieutenant General Dr. Christian Freuding (b. 1971) is a senior German military officer set to become the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr in February 2027. A former armored reconnaissance officer with a Ph.D. in political science and service in Bosnia and Afghanistan, he previously led the Ministry of Defense's Ukraine Situation Center, served as Chief of Staff to Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, and became Inspector of the Army in October 2025. He is also widely known for his public video briefings on the war in Ukraine.
