Charles Philipp has a passion for creating decentralized and scalable systems. MICRO’s fleet of six-foot tall museums evolved out of an award-winning background in media and production for some of the world's most influential brands, combined with a passion for accessible education. From building the first museums in a rusty shipping container in Brooklyn, NY, Charles has helped turn MICRO into the first museum model that can reach every corner of the globe, bringing scientists, storytellers, researchers and artists together to squeeze the best things about museums into modern-day cabinets of curiosity. Charles was one of the winners in the Falling Walls Engage pitch competition in 2022, received the New Media Award from Tribeca Film Institute, and the Place by Design Award at SXSW. He has given keynote talks at MuseumNext, Museum of Tomorrow, and The Met, has been featured at TED, and has appeared in numerous publications including the Washington Post, New York Times, and NPR. Charles is a mentor at The David Prize, NewInc and the Founders Institute.
