Baldwyn Torto

Baldwyn Torto is Principal Scientist at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, Nairobi, Kenya, and Extraordinary Professor at the Department of Zoology and Entomology, University of Pretoria, South Africa. He is a Fellow of the Entomological Society of America, and African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and an International Member, National Academy of Sciences, USA.  Recently, he served in the Selection Committee, UNESCO-Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World-Elsevier Foundation Awards. He led the AAS Commission for Science to assess the joint African Union-European Union grants on Food, Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture. He is the immediate past President, Board of Trustees, JRS Biodiversity Foundation, USA, and recipient of several international awards.
