Arnhildur Palmadóttir graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2006 with a BA degree in architecture, continuing her studies at the Barcelona school of architecture, while later completing a master's degree from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. Arnhildur has an entrepreneurial attitude and an interdisciplinary interest that she uses to tackle projects from various perspectives. Arnhildur has written articles and texts related to innovation, technology and sustainability in design and construction, as well as giving lectures on the subject. Besides being founder of s. ap architects, she is now running the Icelandic branch of the Danish architecture and innovation company Lendager, which specialises in sustainability and circularity in construction. She is the winner of the Nordic Council's Environmental Award 2024 for interdisciplinary collaboration and focus on recyclable building materials. s. ap architects’ project Lavaforming is Iceland’s contribution to the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2025.
